Earth, Water, and the Art of Dwelling
The Mud Villas is a 45,000 sq.ft hospitality project in Peeli Padav, Haridwar — a retreat that returns to the most ancient of building materials: mud. Designed for Mr. Lalit Nayyar, the project reimagines vernacular construction techniques in the context of contemporary luxury hospitality.
Rammed earth walls, thatched roofs, and hand-plastered surfaces create an environment of extraordinary sensory richness and thermal comfort. The villas are organized in clusters around shared garden spaces, creating a sense of community that is rare in hospitality design. The Mud Villas is a place where slowness is the luxury.
